Imagine...
a corridor of natural and recreational resources, rich in history, located in the
middle of massive suburban developments yet within walking distance of homes.

Imagine... if this corridor provided wildlife habitat which attracted hikers, bicyclists,
recreational fishermen, birdwatchers and canoeists, all of whom spent
                      money in the local economy.

Imagine... that the improved quality of life from such a corridor created an increase in
property values, and hence, tax revenue.

Where could such a corridor exist?

Along the Clinton River in winter, 2004.

Answer: Here, the Clinton River Corridor.

The Friends of the Clinton River Pathway is a group of concerned citizens working
with elected officials and government agencies in our communities to develop a
multi-use pathway along one of our most beautiful natural resources: the Clinton
River.

The Clinton River Pathway will extend westward from downtown Mt. Clemens,
along the banks of the river, to downtown Rochester, preserving a vital strip of
natural habitat and enhancing each community through which it passes. These
communities include Mt. Clemens, Clinton Township, Sterling Heights, Utica,
Shelby Township, and Rochester.

The Clinton River Pathway will connect existing trail systems--the boardwalk along
the river in downtown Mt. Clemens, the "Golden Triangle" in Clinton Township,
Sterling Heights' trail in Dodge Park, Shelby Township's River Bend Park, and the
Paint Creek Trail in Rochester. It will link public facilities, like the Clinton-Macomb
Library, parks, and neighborhoods, offering educational opportunities as well as
health, recreational, and economic benefits.
